BAEC detects further radioactivity at Chittagong port

Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) on Wednesday
detected radioactive substances inside nine sacks of a container
which had been sealed by Chittagong Customs House on August 22.
Earlier, BAEC collected samples from the seized container and sent it
to Dhaka for examination.
A nine-member team of BAEC headed by Debashish Pal, chief
scientific officer at BAEC, started removing the radioactive substances
from the container on Monday.
According to BAEC, there were around 48 sacks of zinc oxide in the
container. Chittagong-based Citadel Global Corporation was supposed
to export the container to China.
